A woodcut panorama of Naples, which appeared in Francios de Belleforest’s work “La cosmographie universelle de tout le monde” (more details about this can be found in lot 105). The representation is surrounded by a richly decorated frame – used only in this edition. In the picture’s foreground are finely crafted galleys gliding with billowing sails. With a map of South Italy and French explanatory text on the back.
Dimensions: 345 x 440 mm. Fine, clear copy.
