A woodcut map of Sicily, which appeared in Francios de Belleforest’s work “La cosmographie universelle de tout le monde” (more details about this can be found in lot 105). The representation is surrounded by a richly decorated frame – used only in this edition – and illustrated by a sailboat at the island’s northern coastline. With explanatory text in French on the back.
