Sebastian Schmidt (1617, Lampertheim – 1696, Strasbourg) német evangélikus teológus és hebraista. Protestáns teológiát tanult a marburgi, a königsbergi, a wittenbergi és a strasbourgi egyetemen. 1640-től a Bázeli Református Egyetemen folytatta tanulmányait Johann Buxtorf ifjabb, korának vezető hebraistája irányítása alatt. 1653 végén Strasbourgban a teológia professzora, majd a következő évben a theologiae doktora lett. Többször volt az egyetem rektora.
Korabeli egészpergamen-kötésben, a gerincen tussal írt címfelirattal. A címlapon Georgio K. Nagy [Nagy K. György] névbejegyzése. Jó példány, a belső tábláról viszont hiányzik a papírborítás.
