The first edition of the work is considered the first original Hungarian novel. The Piarist author completed the work as early as 1786, which could only published in 1788 due to censorship. Set in the Árpád era but conveying a current message against the court's Germanization policy, the book became a huge success, especially popular among ladies. As a result, two further editions were published within a short time (1791, 1805).
Contemporary leather. Spine richly gilt, slightly damaged.
